GENERAL RULES AND REGUALTIONS

 

 

Camp and Battle Authenticity Requirements

 

In addition to the general rules and regulations for this event, these specific authenticity requirements are being made available to each unit. This event is taking place on the actual battlefield at the appropriate time of year, and it is the intent of the organizers that this event be as authentic as possible. We are therefore making these separate authenticity requirements available to each unit so that you will know what to expect before arrival. Your assistance in seeing that each member of your unit is aware of these requirements is greatly appreciated. These regulations will be enforced by event staff and/or overall commanders or their provost/inspector general designees.

 

1. NO DOGS OR OTHER PETS SHALL BE ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THE EVENT.

2. No modern conveniences or historically inaccurate items shall be within view of other participants or the public during the weekend. Specifically, the following items SHALL NOT BE USED or SHALL REMAIN HIDDEN FROM VIEW AT ALL TIMES:

  -Modern picnic tables or other inappropriate modern camp furniture.

  -Coleman type propane or gas lanterns.

  - Chemical glow sticks.

  -Flashlights.

  -Coleman type propane or gas stoves.

  -Modern coolers.

  -Portable radios, tvs or dvd players.

  -Tent heaters shall remain hidden behind closed tent flaps.

  -Modern food and beverage containers, paper towels etc.

  -Tents, tarps or flys other than those of period correct materials and construction.

  -Generators

3. Only period correct US and CS army uniforms constructed of materials and patterns common in Eastern North Carolina in late 1862 will be allowed. Navy, Marine and other uniforms shall not be allowed.

4. Only flags that are correct for this area and time frame will be allowed in camp or on the battlefield, that is, appropriate US National flag, First National CS flag, and individual unit flags of appropriate construction and design for an 1862 North Carolina campaign. CS battle flags, ANV flags, Naval Jacks or other flags common to other theaters of operation shall not be displayed.
